Xinyi (Cyndi) is an assistant professor of the School of Foreign Languages at Shenzhen Technology University. She received her Ph.D. in literary and cultural studies from Monash University, Australia.Sheobtained a B.A. in English from Sun Yat-sen University and an M.A. in translation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include British popular culture, global media and intercultural communication. During her PhD studies, she was a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Arts and the Language Centre of Monash University. Prior to joining Shenzhen Technology University, she taught English courses at Foshan University for three years and has accumulated rich experience in language education. She won the second prize in thesemi-final of the national FLTRP “Star Teacher” competition in 2017 and was an academic visitor to The University of Manchester in 2018.
