Kizito Tekwa is Canadian and professional translator and teacher. He graduated from the University of Ottawa School of Translation and Interpretation (STI) in 2018 with a PhD in Translation Technology. He has extensive teaching experience in Canada and China. He taught at the University of Ottawa’s Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) before joining Shanghai International Studies University (Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation) in 2016. Then, in 2021, he moved to Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (School of Interpretation and Translation Studies), where he worked for two years before moving to Shenzhen Technology University.
He has published extensively in translation technology, computer-assisted language learning, low-resource languages, and machine translation use during crisis scenarios. He has also published a monograph on machine translation and language learning and several coursebooks, includingWriting: A Coursebook to Improve Essay Writing and Avoid Chinglish, andA Technical Writing Coursebook for College Students. He is currently translating Qian Xuesen’s biography and working on other projects.
